Richard Borden

Richard Borden
has almost 30 years of experience in the in the mineral exploration, consulting and mining industries. As General Manager Environment for Rio Tinto's Copper and Coal Group, he is responsible for environmental oversight and management at more than ten mines and projects on four continents. Mr. Borden received a B.S. in Geological Sciences from the Pennsylvania State University and an M.S. in Geology from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. He has expertise in geochemistry, hydrogeology, waste management, remedial investigations, rehabilitation and environmental mine planning, permitting and closure. He has published on a number of these topics in scientific journals, and in conjunction with the U.S. Geological Survey, the Society of Mining Engineers and the Washington State Division of Geology and Earth Resources. Mr. Borden was appointed to the Board in March, 2015 as a member knowledgeable in mining matters.
